Concept

Three-Star Chef's Knife Series from Puma IP Solingen: Our sharp kitchen knife features a blade made from high-quality VG-10 Damascus steel.

67 layers of SUS430 and SUS431 steel make this Damascus knife an absolutely high-quality kitchen aid.

LASTING SHARPNESS: Thanks to the special Japanese Damascus steel and grind, this knife offers long-lasting sharpness compared to conventional knives and was developed for use in the hotel and catering industry.

The pleasant lightness of the knife combined with the ergonomically shaped handle will make cooking a pleasure for many hours in the kitchen.

PERFECT GIFT IDEA: Are you looking for a special gift? Do you need beautiful packaging? The knife comes in an elegant black gift box.

A lovely present for any occasion, both for the professional chef and the enthusiastic hobby cook.

The VG-10 Gold Steel Damascus series covers all applications in the demanding kitchen.

The well-known knifemaker and author Ernst Siebeneicher-Hellwig designed the series for lovers of beautiful and practical knives.

The designer pursued the idea of combining proven traditional blade shapes with modern materials and giving the products a timelessly attractive appearance.

The external appearance is captivating due to the damascene pattern of the blades and the shapely handles made of amber-colored Pakka wood.

In the production of Pakka wood, thin veneers from various hardwoods are impregnated with synthetic resin and pressed under high pressure.

Pakka wood remains dimensionally stable even under the influence of moisture.

The Damascus steel of the blades consists of a core of high-performance VG-10 steel.

This steel is characterized by high hardness, good edge retention, and rust resistance.

The hard cutting core is flanked by two different stainless steels, which are welded to the core under high pressure and temperature in a vacuum.

The Damascus steel created in this elaborate process possesses properties that cannot be achieved by blades made of only one type of steel, thanks to the hard cutting core in combination with the flexible stainless steel side layers.

In addition, the striking pattern looks extremely elegant and attractive.

The handles have an asymmetrical cross-section.

This allows them to perfectly fill the palm of the hand when cutting, thus enabling fatigue-free work on the material to be cut.

Care
  • Cleaning: After use, you should clean the knife under running water with a mild soap. Avoid washing the knife in the dishwasher, as this can cause damage.
  • Drying: Dry the knife thoroughly immediately after washing to prevent rust formation. It is best to use a soft cloth for this.
  • Storage: Store the knife in a dry place where it cannot come into contact with other metal objects. A knife sheath or a knife block are ideal storage options.
  • Sharpening: Sharpen the knife regularly with a suitable whetstone or sharpener. A sharp knife cuts better and is safer to use.
  • Cutting surface: Use a suitable cutting surface made of wood or plastic for cutting. Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone or metal, as this can damage the blade.

WHY DO 67 LAYERS OF VG-10 CUT SO WELL?

The reason for the special cutting performance is the three-part construction: A core of hard VG-10 steel is protected by a total of 66 outer layers. The hard core is crucial because it allows for a much sharper grind than regular stainless steel. However, to prevent the blade from being too rigid during use, the outer layers give the knife the necessary flexibility. This combination ensures that the cutting edge glides through food extremely easily while remaining robust enough for daily use. This means you will need to sharpen the knife significantly less often.
